WIND PLACE AND SHO heads for the big York meeting tomorrow. He runs in the 2 mile handicap and is drawn 13 of the 16 runners. He ran in the Grand Metropolitan handicap at Epsom as we wanted to get him on the track and his original target race at Newbury was abandoned. He did not run that well but the track did not suit him and 12 furlongs is too short for him these days. He has come out of the race well though and has come on for the run. The trip and the track will be much more suitable for him tomorrow and he has form on any ground so they are no concerns on that front. He will be wearing cheekpieces for the first time tomorrow as he tends to hit a flat spot in his races when the tempo increases so we hope they will help the jockey through this part of the race. It is purely an experiment and he is certainly not ungenuine in anyway. Graham Lee rides him, who knows him well, and we can see him running a good race tomorrow.
