We have 2 runners at 2 meetings tomorrow. LONGSIDE heads for Brighton to run in a 10 furlong handicap where he is drawn 5 of the 9 runners. We don't think he was right last time he ran at Nottingham. We scoped him afterwards and there were signs that he had bled slightly. We gave him a break and he seems fine at home now and has scoped clear after working so we are hoping for the best. He is a distance winner and has also run well at Brighton before so likes the track. This will either be his penultimate or last run before he has a winter break. He will run over hurdles next year and will be a nice prospect for summer jumping.
POPPY TIME makes her debut on the all weather at Chelmsford tomorrow. It will also be her first run in handicap company and and she is not unfairly handicapped off a mark of 70. The biggest handicap to her tomorrow could be the draw as she is drawn 12 of the 12 runners. She has run 2 encouraging races in pretty good maiden races at Newbury without troubling the judge. She has improved each time she has run and is definitely going the right way. She was unraced at 2 and was still very green and immature in the spring. We have dropped her back in trip to 10 furlongs purely because this seemed an ideal race for her as it is for fillies only. The surface is a bit of an unknown but she goes well on it at home. It will obviously not be easy from the draw but if she can get a bit of luck in running and handles the track then she could run well.
