Wester Ross reappears at Windsor

WESTER ROSS has been off the track since last June but reappears at Windsor tomorrow. He won on this course last year over 10 furlongs and tomorrow he drops back to a mile.James Eustace does not think this will be a problem as he seems a sharper, stronger horse this year. He will have the able assistance of Ryan Moore in the saddle, he rode him once last year and liked the horse. He should run a decent race tomorrow but having had such a long break may just need the run.
On Tuesday there are 2 runners at different meetings. DOUBLE ON RED heads for Warwick, she missed the break on her last run but ran a respectable race and will strip fitter this time. The unknown is the distance of 11 furlongs but if she follows in the family tradition she should stay. If she does see out the trip she should run well. FARSIGHTED makes her seasonal reappearance at Nottingham in a mile handicap. It is a competitive race and those with a run under their belt already will have an advantage. She is in good form at home but may find one or two too good for her first time out in this company.
On Thursday there are 2 runners at Newmarket. WAR ARTIST will have his first run on English turf in the Abernant Stakes. He has to carry a 10 pound penalty which will make it a tough task. He could be heading for Singapore for his next run at the end of May as he has been invited to run in a big race there. His alternative is much closer to home, the Duke of York in mid May. ICE BELLINI will be having her second run of her career in a 7 furlong maiden on the same card. She ran well on the same course and over the same distance at the end of last season. She has strengthened up well over the winter so will hopefully run a promising race on Thursday. She is expected to stay further in time.
CAVENDISH  is going to try his hand over a longer trip at Yarmouth on Friday. He is running over 14 furlongs but James Eustace thinks he should stay, he has shown all the signs of being a stayer. Hopefully the ground will remain good or softer as he is not a top of the ground horse.
