We have another busy day tomorrow with with one runner on the flat at Newbury and two over hurdles at Aintree's evening meeting. MAJOR CRISPIES gets the ball rolling at Newbury in a 6 furlong Listed race. He ran three great races on the all-weather earlier in the year and his run on Good Friday can be forgotten because he had a terrible draw and also was struck into during the race. Luckily he has recovered completely from the injury and we think that a drop back to 6 furlongs on good ground at Newbury will be ideal for him. His pedigree is all about speed and it is very possible that he can run very well at a big price.
IRON BUTTERFLY runs in the first race at Aintree. Her form this Winter over hurdles, and in one flat run this Spring, is very good. Her last run over hurdles was a particularly good effort. The one slight concern is whether 2 miles 4 furlongs on good ground will find things happening a little too quickly for her. However she still seems in very good form at home and can run well.
WILY FOX runs in the second last at Aintree. He is tackling 3 miles for the first time but he did shape as though a step up in trip might suit when he ran in the valuable Grassroots Series Final at Haydock last time out. He suffered interference and was forced wide on the bend into the straight and without this he would have been in the first 6. He lacks a turn of foot but Jack Quinlan had trouble pulling him up after the line that day and on good ground 3 miles is certainly worth a try. He has given Blue Peter Racing immense fun this Winter and all involved will enjoy an outing to the home of the Grand National.
