ORCADIAN should have silenced some of his critics now with his runaway victory in the Listed Autumn Stakes at Windsor on Saturday evening. He has only blotted his copybook once when he ran wide at Newbury early in the season but this seems to have given him a bad name with the media. There was absolutely nothing wrong with his steering on Saturday as he negotiated the tight turns of Windsor like a bicycle. He was given a great ride by Richard Hughes and won unchallenged by 2 ½ lengths. His next run will be dictated by the going as he definitely seems to be suited by give in the ground, his first possible engagement could be at the Doncaster St Leger meeting.
FAST BOWLER, also owned by Jeff Smith made it a good weekend for James Eustace by winning at Yarmouth yesterday on his racecourse debut. This was a very pleasing performance as he has always looked a good horse at home but has had the virus twice this year. He was a bit green in the closing stages but ran on well and should improve for this run. The owner breeder Jeff Smith is having an amazing run as his last 5 runners have all won and 3 of those in black type races.
