It was fantastic to see IRON BUTTERFLY win so well at Catterick this afternoon. She is home bred by Harold Nass who is a very loyal and patient owner. She had already won over hurdles and we were keen to win a flat race with her. This was her first run back after a summer break and she looks as if she is improving all the time. She is by Shirrocco out of an Old Vic mare which is said to be a good nick and it certainly seems to be. She will be kept to breed from once her racing days are over and she should make a lovely broodmare. She has a yearling full brother who will be joining her in training soon.
TORRAN SOUND heads for Towcester tomorrow to run over hurdles, there are 10 runners in the race. He has been running consistently well and the ground looks good for him tomorrow. Felix de Giles rides him again and he thinks a stiff finish will suit him which he will certainly get at Towcester. He is in good form at home and the track should play to his strengths so he is all set to run a decent race again tomorrow.
SEABOUGG runs at Kempton on Thursday in a 12 furlong maiden and there are only 7 runners. The big yards are represented so it is unlikely to be an easy contest but it will be interesting to see how he handles the polytrack. We are hoping to run him on the turf in 12 - 16 furlong handicaps before the end of the flat season before returning to hurdles.
