'BAAN is a legend' were the words used by the trainer immediately after his fine win at Yarmouth on Tuesday. Rosie Jessop seems to get on with him very well and she gave him another good ride. He is now 10 years old but is in the form of his life. He is thriving on his responsibilities as schoolmaster for the yard. He is kept busy being the lead horse for the string, schooling the jumpers and accompanying 2 year olds to the races. He is becoming a course and distance specialist so will return to Yarmouth for another 2 mile contest on 14th August. It will be a step up in grade to a 56-75 rated handicap. He won off a mark of 55 so will go up a few pounds for his win but will hopefully get into the race with a low weight and can be competitive again.
NIMBLE KIMBLE ran a very promising race yesterday at Leicester, finishing second on only her second racecourse appearance. She showed she had improved from her debut and was only beaten a length by a filly from the powerful Richard Hannon yard. She looks as if she is a filly with a future.
