DUNOWEN runs tomorrow in the 1.40pm race at Folkestone. He is running back over hurdles again after 3 unsuccessful attempts over fences. The last time he ran over hurdles was at Aintree in November when he finished a good second. James hopes he will certainly put in a better performance than the last time he ran. He has the assistance of Robert Thornton in the saddle, one of the leading jump jockeys this season.
LIGHT BRIGADE runs on Thursday at Lingfield after a lay off. He ran very well on the polytrack on his last start when he was third. He subsequently had a splint but is now fully recovered. James is hopefully that he will run well but thinks he may need the run and is also slightly worried that the trip might be a bit short for him. The race is over 10 furlongs and his best form is over slightly further.
Spring is definitely in the air here at Newmarket. This morning was a crisp frosty morning and James worked 5 of the more forward 2 year olds up the Al Bahatri all-weather gallop. On this evidence of this it does look as if there will be some early action in the 2 year old department from Park Lodge Stables this season.
