WILY FOX heads to Newbury tomorrow to run in a 2 mile 3 furlong 'hands and heels' novice handicap hurdle and Stevie Sanders rides him again. He rode him at Taunton in a similar type of race and ran very well to finish third. He got left at the start that day so if he can get a better start this time he should run very well. He has a 7 pound penalty for his recent win at Market Rasen but Stevie claims 5 pounds so he is only effectively up 2 pounds tomorrow. The handicapper has raised him 6 pounds for future races. It looks a more competitive race than Market Rasen as it is a step up in grade. Arguably he could be better carrying a lower weight in a higher grade of race rather than top weight in a lower grade race as he is not a very big horse. We do hope racing will go ahead as there is rain forecast, if it does then WILY FOX should run well again tomorrow.
