Three runners head for local track Yarmouth on Easter Monday. The first runner is SCOTTISH STAR who has been off the course for over a year. He won at Lingfield on the all weather and then had an injury. He has had a long lay off but has had a very good preparation this spring. He has been working nicely at home but is bound to come on for the run. He is on a handicap mark of 74 which is not unreasonable for what he has achieved on the track so far and his work at home. Obviously after such a long break the important thing is that he comes back in one piece as he is a nice horse for the future. The ground is currnetly good/soft which is ideal for him. if the ground did become very soft there is a chance he will not run.
VIKING ROSE makes her seasonal reappearance in a 7 furlong handicap. She showed herself to be a good tough filly last year and has come back well this year. She has come to hand early and has been working very nicely this spring. She has form on all types of ground but 7 furlong on good /soft ground should suit her well. She has run well at Yarmouth before. She is drawn 1 which is not seen as a good draw as they tend to come up the stands side. It may suit her though as she is not a very big filly and does not like to be crowded.
