WINTER FEVER steps up to 10 furlongs at Lingfield tomorrow. When he won over 8 furlongs at Wolverhampton last time out he looked as if he would be suited by further and he has good form in South Africa over this distance. The track is an unknown factor but if he can handle the undulations of Lingfield and gets the trip he should have a good chance. It is a competitive handicap but he is in good form after his win and has only been put up 4 pounds by the handicapper.
KHARKY SCHULTZ heads for Uttoxeter over hurdles but there is an inspection in the morning. They are worried about frost but seem optimistic about racing going ahead. The race has cut up and there are only 9 declared runners. The one to beat is Novikov who he has beaten before but is now on worse terms with him at the weights. He will like the ground as it will be very soft and he certainly deserves to win over hurdles. He keeps running good races and consequently keeps going up in the weights for his efforts.
James Eustace has just arrived back from Dubai having supervised WAR ARTIST'S first bit of work at the new Dubai Racecourse, Meydan. He was very impressed by the new course and it was great to have been there for the opening. WAR ARTIST worked well on the new artificial surface yesterday morning and his first race will be on Feb 11th on the same surface. This is very much a stepping stone for 2 more important races on the straight turf track in March. He will work once more before the race but is likely to need this first run.
