Thursday could be a big day for the yard with a possible 3 runners in the valuable Tattersalls Autumn Auction Stakes. With good prizemoney right down to 10th place James is hopeful of coming home with something. HIGHLAND CASCADE’S form received a significant boost recently as the filly she was third to at Leicester recently, Magical Romance, went on to win the Group 1 Cheveley Park Stakes. She would have a good chance but would appreciate some rain. RAFFFISH would also really appreciate some rain to make it more of a stamina test, having won over a mile he will probably find the 6 furlong trip too short so any rain would really help his cause. MISTER AZIZ could make up the trio but may get balloted out. The trip should suit him. He is a tough sort and we have not seen the best of him yet so hopefully he will make the cut.
During the rest of the week, CHIGORIN is an intended runner at Lingfield on Wednesday in a 10 furlong 3 year olds only handicap but he too is in danger of being balloted out. The form horse in the race is Don’t Call me Derek who is on a winning role having won his last 3 races. Chigorin ran a really good race at York last time out so if he can reproduce that form he would have a good chance. The slight worry is whether he will handle the bends of Lingfield as he is a big horse.
MISSED TURN has a choice of engagements. She is entered in a claimer at Redcar on Friday but is more likely to run in a seller at Wolverhampton on Saturday evening. HIGH CARD is also entered at Wolverhampton in a mile maiden. He was very green on his debut at Lingfield but has sharpened up for this and should finish closer this time.
WESTER LODGE was a bit unlucky not to loose his maiden tag at Newcastle yesterday . He ran a great race but was beaten a neck by a 100-1 chance with the well fancied favourite back in fourth place. It was only his second run and he should be a really nice horse for next year.
