JOE CASTER is running in a 6 furlong nursery at Wolverhampton tonight. He hasn't run on this surface before and he hasn't got the best draw in 9 so he could find it a bit of a stiff task. The handicapper has also been a bit harsh on him, he originally rated him 73 and put him up to 77 without running and without any obvious reason. The horse is in good form so is sure to run a good race and will learn from the experience of running on the artificial surface. He has one more opportunity to run on the turf this season at Catterick in 10 days time. Hopefully the ground will be soft by then and he would have a good chance there.
On Monday ON CUE heads for Leicester to run in a 6 furlong median auction maiden race. She ran well over 7 furlongs at Warwick last time out. It was a rough race in the early stages and she lost her position but she stayed on well in the final stages of the race. Hayley Turner rode her that day and felt she has enough speed to drop back to 6 furlongs. The more rain they get the better, she will definitely appreciate soft ground. She is a very genuine filly and should run a good race.
