AT THE MONEY has a good chance of winning the stayers series prize at Pontefract today. He needs to be placed and finish in front of Thewhirlingdervish to collect the prize. It would be great for all at Park Lodge if he could win the series as the owner, trainer and the stable staff all collect a £1,000 which would be well received by everyone. The horse is in good form and always runs well at Pontefract so he should have a good chance.
The same owner, Harold Nass, was very encouraged by Karky Schultz's first run over hurdles at Kempton yesterday. He finished 5th behind a horse of Alan King's, Saticon, who is highly regarded. He jumped well and did not get the best of runs before the second last but stayed on after the final hurdle. He saw the trip out well and could even be suited by a slightly stiffer test of stamina. It was a very encouraging debut.
SECOND OPINION runs at Yarmouth tomorrow and James Eustace is hoping they will get some rain there as she definitely need soft ground. She ran very well in a maiden at Leicester on her last start and the handicapper did not alter her handicap mark for this run so she should have a good chance tomorrow if she runs up to that form. Here next engagement is at the Horses in Training sales next Thursday. She is a nice racing prospect for someone as long as she is is campaigned on soft ground, she also has a nice pedigree so has value as a broodmare too.
