AT THE MONEY runs at Goodwood today and the rain has changed the ground to soft now which is definitely in his favour. He ran poorly last time but it was on the all weather and he does not seem to act on that surface. His last 2 turf runs have been good especially his second at Pontefract. He has been given a chance at last by the handicapper so if he can reproduce his early season form he could run well. The slight concern is that he has been on the go along time and is due a holiday but with the weather as it is he may aswell keep going. James Eustace has decided to leave the blinkers off today which he hopes will help him too.
SECOND OPINION is running at Lingfield tomorrow evening on the turf. She ran very badly at Newmarket last time out but the fast ground was the likely explanation for that. She does need cut in the ground and will certainly get that tomorrow. It is a race confined to mares and fillies only and with 9 runners she could have a chance on her best form.
POCHARD is still in fine form after her recent 3 wins over hurdles so she is entered at Bath on Sunday on the flat. It would be nice to win a race with her on the level before her well deserved summer break. If the ground becomes too soft there she may not run as her recent good form as been on better ground.
