The first 2 year old runner of the season, JOE CASTER, ran a very promising race at Leicester last week. He finished second and James Eustace was particularly pleased with the attitude he showed. He had to really battle for second place in the final furlong. His next intended race is another similar contest back at the same track on 26th April. It is a great pointer for the rest of the 2 year olds in the yard to have a horse with proven form on the racecourse.DOUBLE ON RED and SECOND OPINION ran promising races last week on their seasonal debut's but James Eustace is completely baffled by SUNNY SPRITE'S poor run. There were no obvious excuses, hopefully it was just a 'bad day at the office'.
It is a much quieter week this week with just SZABA running at Doncaster on Friday. She is running in a 7 furlong fillies maiden. There are only 11 runners but the big yards are well represented so it could be quite a hot contest. It will be nice to get a race into her on the turf though as her first 2 races have been on the all weather.
