We have two runners on the turf today at different meetings and they will both enjoy the current soft underfoot conditions. TOPANTICIPATION heads for Newbury to run in a 10 furlong fillies handicap. There are 11 runners and she will be ridden by Luke Morris. She ran very well at Sandown, her first run over this distance, and stayed well. We have been waiting specifically for this race as it is for fillies only. She will like the ground and we hope she can run another nice race.
POTENZA heads up the A1 to Doncaster and runs in a 10 furlong handicap. Dougie Costello takes the ride and there are 12 runners. He ran very well last time out at York, he was only beaten by 3 year olds who are improving types and it could turn out to have been a good race. We have dropped him back to 10 furlongs just because this was the most suitable race for him but he is a winner over this trip. It is currently good/ soft ground at Doncaster, any more rain there would help him. They seemed to miss alot of the heavy rain that fell elsewhere on Wednesday. He has come out of his last race at Yarmouth well and he should be thereabouts today. This will probably be his last run on the flat this year, he is likely to go hurdling over the winter.
