ORCADIAN put up one of the best performance’s of his career so far finishing third in the St Simon Stakes at Newbury on Saturday. 3 year olds were first and second, they have a great record in this race and he was clearly the best of the older horses running. If he had had a prep race it might have made a difference to the result but there were not any suitable races for him. His next intended run will be at Windsor on November 4th where he has a choice of engagements. He could run in either the November Handicap or a Listed race, both over 12 furlongs. At this stage the Listed race is the preferred option. He is obviously in very good form and should definitely get his ideal ground at this time of year. After that he may run over hurdles again or there are some Listed races in France in December which are also a possibility.
ANATOLIAN PRINCE runs at Yarmouth tomorrow in a 7 furlong maiden. The big yards are well represented but he will appreciate the soft ground and he will do his best. He has had the benefit of 2 previous runs too which could be in his favour. James Eustace has a very good record at this course in 2 year old maidens so it would be great if ANATOLIAN PRINCE can improve this record tomorrow.
On Friday AT THE MONEY will attempt to give the trainer his first win on the Rowley Mile racecourse at Newmarket. He is in great form after his recent win and should get into the race and has a low weight of 7.13. Hopefully Franny Norton will be available to ride him as he won him at Nottingham earlier in the season.
FAST BOWLER is entered in a 7 furlong handicap at Newmarket on Saturday. He will also like the ground and is in good form so could run a big race. The slight worry is that he is going in his coat. WETSER ROSS is due to make his racecourse debut at the same fixture. He is a promising horse for the future but at this stage he is still a big baby. He will hopefully run a nice race, this will be his only run this year.
