Touch of the Italian can help Coverham today

Thursday, August 8, 2019
COVERHAM runs in a 7 furlong apprentice handicap at Yarmouth today and will be ridden by Marco Ghiani who caught the eye when riding a winner at Newmarket recently. He rode COVERHAM in a bit of wrk last week and got on well with him. COVERHAM  has won for an apprentice before and taking 3 pounds off his back must be a help. He is running off a 1 pound higher mark than his last win and has been knocking at the door in his last 2 races on the turf. The slight concern would be if the ground is a bit too firm for him but the are watering again today and there has been good grass cover there this season. He is drawn 3 of the 7 runners and should be thereabouts again today.
