DIRECTORY returns to Kempton tomorrow evening after being involved in a very close finish there last week. He ran a great race and was coming back at the winner in the final strides and was beaten a short head in a dead heat for second place. The handicapper has put him up 3 pounds for that run but he is running off the same mark tomorrow as last week. This was the only race back at the same course and distance for a few weeks so we thought he should take his chance and he has come out of last weeks race well. He has been dealt a wide draw again, 10 of the 12 runners, but he has come from a wide draw before so hopefully he can overcome it again. He is a tough genuine horse who should run a good race again.
MENDOZA runs at the same fixture and we are rather feeling our way with him. He is running in a 6 furlong handicap and is drawn 8 of the 11 runners. He looked a bit rung rusty at Chelmsford in his first run for us but should be more at home in handicap tomorrow tomorrow. He has been dropped 3 pounds for his last run but still looks a bit high in the weights judging on his home form. He ideally would like cut in the ground on the turf but seems to handle the all weather surface well so we will see how he goes tomorrow.
