ENVOY steps up to 2 miles for the first time at Kempton tomorrow. He is drawn 6 of the 11 runners and Ryan Tate takes the ride. He ran a little bit below par last time out in a valuable final but is was possible that this was due to the fact he had had 3 fairly quick runs and in the past he has benefitted from a longer break between races. He has had a bit of a break now and has been freshened up and we are very pleased with the way he is going at home. We have always thought he would get further than 12 furlongs so we thought Kempton would be a good track to try as we know he acts well there. We would have preferred to run him over 1 mile 6 furlongs but there were no suitable races. If he does stay then it is possible he can improve again which will give us some good options going forward. He is in good from at home so we are hoping for the best tomorrow.
