COVERHAM and DIRECTORY, who are both owned by Blue Peter Racing, run at Newmarket tomorrow afternoon. DIRECTORY runs in the first race, a 7 furlong handicap, and he is drawn 4 of the 10 runners. He ran very well last time out at Kempton when he stepped up in trip to 7 furlongs. He had been very green in his previous runs but the penny dropped and he was a fast finishing second. This will be his first run on the turf for us so we hope he can transfer that form to grass. We are still learning about him so we are unsure whether he will handle the fast ground tomorrow but he is a good mover. If he can transfer his all weather form to the turf then he should run well tomorrow.
COVERHAM runs in the final race tomorrow, a 6 furlong Hands and Heels apprentice handicap over 6 furlongs. He was due to run at Salisbury today but they cancelled all the 7 furlong races so we have had to re route him to Newmarket. He was also entered in the 7 furlong handicap but we have opted for the easier contest but it is over 6 furlongs. It is not ideal dropping him back in trip but there were no other suitable races for him. We have therefore put blinkers on him as he is a laid bak horse and we hope this will help the jockey to get him traveling early on. As it is a Hands and Heels apprentice race the jockey can not use a whip. Alud Beech rides him and he will be one of the more experienced riders in the race and he has ridden COVERHAM at home. He got no run at all last time out at Doncaster but has been in very good form at home since then so we are hoping for the best tomorrow.
