ICE SLICE bids for a five timer at Haydock tomorrow evening. He is drawn 8 of the 8 runners and Ryan Tate once again takes the ride. He was drawn 1 at the same track last time when he won and made all that day. He may not be able to do that this time from a wide draw but he is not one dimensional and does not have to make the running so the draw should not be an issue. He still seems in very good form at home but it is obviously getting tougher for him as he is rising up the handicap. He started the season on a mark of 74 and will be running off 91 tomorrow, a rise of 17 pounds. If he wins tomorrow he will hopefully get into the BetFred handicap at Goodwood which is his main target.
SHADOW SPIRIT also runs at Haydock tomorrow in a 10 furlong handicap. She is drawn 5 of the 8 runners and will be ridden by Tom Marquand. She has been running well in some very good races this season but she is entered in the July Sales next week and so we are having one more go at making her a winner before then. We are taking on PURE FANTASY again, who won her last race at Nottingham, but we are 10 pounds better off this time and we hope the ground will suit SHADOW SPIRIT better tomorrow. It was fast ground last time and she didn't really let herself down, the ground is currently soft at Haydock. We hope these facts will give her a chance of gaining a winning mark tomorrow.
